Professional Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager – Soft Goods to drive the development of highly engineered consumer goods. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating prototype builds, managing project deliverables, overseeing material tracking and vendor activities, and ensuring timely issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle. This role requires a strong technical background in soft goods and proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, external vendors, and OEM partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Planning and Deliverables:
- Contribute to build deliverables and support the development of project schedules.
- Develop and maintain build matrices, manage Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation, and define/track entry and exit criteria.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Coordinate project calls, facilitate project meetings, and support communication among project stakeholders.
- Orchestrate activities across various teams throughout the development phase.
- Material Sourcing:
- Manage material sourcing, track material lead times, and coordinate materials for prototype builds.
- Monitor material availability against project schedules to prevent delays.
- Vendor and Purchase Order Management:
- Manage vendor quotes, support purchase order processing, and follow up on vendor payments.
- Coordinate effectively with external vendors throughout the entire development process.
- Prototype Shipment Management:
- Manage and track prototype shipments and deliveries.
- Maintain prototype serial numbering and coordinate necessary shipment documentation for traceability.
- Issue Tracking and Resolution:
- Track open project issues and proactively drive their closure during the development phase.
- Coordinate with responsible stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolution and monitor issue status against project deliverables and schedules.
- OEM Partner Management:
- Drive and coordinate development activities with OEM partners.
- Monitor OEM deliverables and project commitments to ensure alignment with overall program goals.
Technical Requirements (Must-have)
- BS/BA degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience driving the development of highly engineered consumer goods.
- Technical experience with soft goods.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing project schedules and build deliverables.
- Proficiency in material sourcing and lead-time tracking.
- Experience managing vendor quotes, purchase orders, and payment follow-up.
- Ability to coordinate prototype shipments.
- Experience in tracking and driving the closure of project issues.
- Experience working effectively with OEM partners.
