Professional Summary

We are seeking a strategic and technically grounded Head of Technical Product Management to lead our software portfolio within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Automation & Control space. This pivotal role bridges product innovation with operational technology (OT), demanding a profound understanding of grid automation systems such as SCADA, ADMS/DMS, DERMS, and cutting-edge edge solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in defining the product vision, leading a high-performing team of technical product managers, engaging extensively with utilities and key industry stakeholders, and adeptly translating complex real-world operational challenges into modern, scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Define the overarching product strategy and vision for T&D automation software, encompassing systems like SCADA, DERMS, ADMS, Historian, and WAMS.
    • Develop and manage a multi-year product roadmap, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory trends and emerging technological advancements.
    • Ensure a strong congruence between utility customer needs and our technical innovation efforts.
  • Team Leadership & Frameworks
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Product Managers.
    • Establish and refine agile product development practices and effective go-to-market strategies.
    • Foster robust cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sales, and customer success teams.
  • Product Execution & Development
    • Prioritize features critical for grid automation, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) integration, and advanced control solutions.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and regional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
    • Integrate customer-driven features identified from field deployments of ADMS/DMS systems.
    • Leverage cloud-native architectures, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and edge computing technologies for T&D software solutions.
  • Market & Customer Engagement
    • Engage proactively with utilities, regulatory bodies, and field operators to gain insights into operational pain points.
    • Stay abreast of industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and grid modernization trends.
    • Translate comprehensive utility feedback into actionable product requirements.
  • Technical Sales Support (USA)
    • Serve as a primary technical advisor to sales and business development teams within the U.S. market.
    • Provide critical support for pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, RFP responses, and solution design.
    • Gather and interpret customer feedback to inform and shape future product enhancements.
    • Contribute to the development of sales enablement tools and competitive analysis.
  • Business & Financial Impact
    • Optimize licensing and pricing models to drive adoption and maximize profitability.
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to effectively measure product success.

Technical Requirements (Must-have)

  • Experience: 15+ years in Technical Product Management, specifically within T&D software.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record with SCADA, ADMS/DMS, DERMS, EMS, or grid optimization systems.
  • Technical Foundation: Strong foundation in software development, cloud platforms, AI/ML, and edge architectures.
  • Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of IEC 61850, CIM, IEEE 2030.5, OpenFMB, and NERC CIP.
  • Sales & Utility Sector: 3+ years of experience in technical sales or pre-sales within the North American utility sector.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desired Skills (Nice-to-have)

  • Implementation Experience: Experience in field implementation or delivery of OT/control room solutions.
  • Education: Advanced degree (MBA or MS preferred) in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
